The spiritual in every day life …

In all the things that I have learned in my life thus far, I would say one of the most valuable is to just STOP …. in all the busy-ness, in all the many appointments and places to go, people to meet and things to be done … to just STOP and complete each task with LOVE and TOTAL ATTENTION in that moment …. there is such a grace that arises, such a joy, for the sheer act of just being present …. and not listening to the distracting thoughts that try to bring me to the next thing … When I am shooting, it is in this “zone” of being ready and present, yet totally relaxed, that I find such inspiration and creativity …. Then I cannot even say that it is “I” who am shooting … there is something else shoots through me, effortlessly.

It sounds so much easier said than done … It has been one of my biggest lessons and gifts of discovery.

At one point I thought that I would stop photography to just pursue life in the “Spiritual World” … I just laugh now reading this, because so many of my biggest insights have come in the “ordinary world” … with all it’s messiness and disturbance …. and total complete beauty …. I see now, that if peace is there even in those crazy moments …. then THIS is the real spiritual world … no difference at all!! It’s there whether I want it or not, IT is always available waiting for me to STOP and SEE and BE … the sacred in every day life!! Yahoo!!

We are once again planning our trip to India for the winter … we will be offering some retreats … will keep you posted.

Life is Beautiful … no need to forget.

Wedding Style, NYC and Unforgettable Food …

I have had so many shoots this month that I have to go back to my calendar just to remember … I am so blessed!!

Thank you life for all these gifts (especially my family and friends) of wonderful clients and inspiring work!!

NYC is always a blast and totally exhilarating!!

My Son is one of my favorite subjects to photograph … always fresh and alive …

We have a new intern who has been with us this summer … Erin .. we love her, she’s GREAT!! and she happens to be my niece.

We photographed one of our couples at the new High-Line Park, which recently opened, very beautiful and cool … a nice escape when NYC is hot!

Had an amazing meal in the West Village – Sant Ambroeus …. unforgettable and well worth the wait!!

We had a great shoot with Grace and Tracy at WEDDING STYLE Magazine … can’t show any pics yet as they need to first be seen in the magazine.

I have known Grace as a dear friend and colleague for more than 15 years … wow!! I remember our first shoots as a young photographer … Grace was so generous with her guidance and direction … and still is to this day!!

Grace has been pushing the limits and continues to set the standard for what is new and great within the wedding world. I love her fearless fiery nature and deep rooted loyalty.
